That sounds like an incredible experience! Cycling in Bogotá, especially in the Usaquén neighborhood, must be a unique blend of urban energy and natural beauty. It’s inspiring to see such a diverse community of cyclists, from families to delivery riders, all enjoying the well-designed bike lanes. The title of “Best City in the World for Cyclists” really speaks to the city’s commitment to cycling infrastructure, despite the challenges posed by its altitude and weather.
Riding with the wind in your face, you’re not just participating in a mode of transport; you’re part of a vibrant culture. The raincoats might be a bit of a hassle, but they also add to the character of the ride. Did you have any favorite spots or moments during your ride?
My first day cycling in Bogota, Colombia in the Usaquen Neighborhood, as I ride along with my face in the wind. I can't help but notice many other cyclists made up of fathers, mothers, children, delivery agents, etc. Passing one another on the perfectly made bike lanes, Bogota has earned the title “Best City in the World for Cyclists”. Even though Bogota is the highest city in South, and North America excluding Denver, Colorado; with ample hilly áreas, and accumulations of rain that recipe means everyone is cycling with a heavy raincoat on.
